Who we are
HealthBridge (chinahealthandtravel.com) is a medical coordination service that helps international patients arrange health checkups and medical appointments at hospitals in China. We are not a hospital, and we do not provide medical treatment. In this policy, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to HealthBridge.
What information we collect
We only collect the information we need to coordinate your care. This may include:
- Contact details — your name, email address, phone number and country of residence.
- Health information — the symptoms, conditions and medical history you choose to share with us, so that we can suggest suitable examinations and match you with an appropriate hospital.
- Appointment details — your preferred dates, city and the type of checkup you are looking for.
- Identification and travel documents — where a hospital requires your passport details for registration, or where you have asked us to help with visa and travel arrangements.
We do not buy personal information about you from third parties, and we do not use your information for advertising.
How we use your information
We use your information only to:
- understand your situation and suggest suitable examinations and hospitals;
- book appointments and coordinate with the hospital on your behalf;
- arrange interpretation, transport and other practical support you have asked for;
- send you your results, follow-up notes and a written quote before you commit to anything;
- respond to your questions and provide support.
We do not sell your information, and we do not share it for marketing purposes. Hospital and medical fees are paid directly to the hospital; coordination fees are agreed in writing with you beforehand.
Legal basis for processing
Where the EU or UK General Data Protection Regulation applies, we process your personal data on the following bases:
- Your consent — for the health information you choose to share with us, and for any communication you opt in to. You can withdraw your consent at any time.
- Performance of a contract — to arrange and coordinate the services you have asked us to provide.
- Legitimate interests — to respond to your enquiries and to keep our records accurate and secure.
Where China’s Personal Information Protection Law (PIPL) applies, we process your personal information on the basis of your consent and to perform the service you have requested.
Who we share it with
To arrange your checkup we share only what is necessary with:
- the hospital or clinic you choose to be seen at, so that it can register you and prepare your appointment;
- service providers who help us operate, such as our email and hosting providers, and interpreters or drivers where you have asked for them.
We do not sell your data and we do not share it with advertisers. Where personal data is transferred outside your country — for example, to a hospital in China — we take reasonable steps to ensure it is protected to a standard consistent with applicable law.
Cookies
This website uses a minimal number of cookies to remember your language and display preferences. We do not use cookies for advertising or tracking. You can clear cookies at any time in your browser settings. For details, see our Cookie Policy.
How long we keep your information
We keep your information for as long as it is needed to provide the service you requested and to meet our legal and accounting obligations. When it is no longer needed, we delete or anonymise it. You can ask us to delete your information at any time — see your rights below.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
- ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete;
- ask us to delete your information;
- object to or restrict how we use your information;
- receive your information in a portable format, or ask us to send it to another provider;
- withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before you withdrew it.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at care@chinahealthandtravel.com. We will respond within the time required by applicable law.
How we protect your information
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit (HTTPS), access controls, and limiting access to the staff and partners who need it in order to coordinate your care.
Children
Our services are intended for adults. Where a checkup is arranged for a child, we ask the parent or legal guardian to give consent and to share the child’s information on their behalf.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the date below. The current version applies from the date it is published.
